UFO - I saw them once many years ago and like them but don't really know their music all that well.

Dream Theatre - Only saw a concert on tv and though I'll say they're a great band which I could get into at a live concert, not extremely interested in them at this point to check the band out any farther.
Never heard UFO, and I know only one Deep Purple song (Highway Star).

I can't figure it out; there's no current model that looks like that. It looks like a Jazzmaster but they don't have a switch at the top right (when looking at the guitar).
I guess the other one looks like a Fender JagStang to me, the one used by Cobain, his signature model.

How much thicker are Vandoren reeds than Rico reeds?

-I play Alto Sax and I am going to move to Vandorens, if I play a 3.5 Rico what size would be the equivalent to Vandoren?Vandorens are about 1/2 strength harder than Ricos, though it varies a bit from reed to reed. So a strength 3 Vandoren will be about equivalent to your Rico 3.5.At least to 3 or 2.5. Vandoren is a lot thicker than Rico.

-I wrote a song, and I want to show all my friends, but without the music, it'll sound bad-ish, and I can't sing it, because my voice isn't all that great. Is there anything on the Internet or any apps that can turn my lyrics into a song with a tune and beat that I'd like?

聽Thank you!(:Audacity is a great free audio tool to record your song with. It has multiple channel recording and all. This would get you going. That way you can record, rerecord and edit the parts of the song until you're happy with the vocals.

To add in a beat and the rest of it, I only know of commercial music production software such as "Reason" and "Fruity Loops Studio". I don't know how musically capable you are but learning to use such software can get a bit daunting for a novice.

You have to think of a tune that would fit the lyrics...

Usually, I create the beat first and then add lyrics to it. That way, I'm sure it will fit together and sound great.

If you like you could always pm me and I can try and help you out.there's a few electric pianos out there that can do that (aka synthesizers) if you feel like investing some money. Youtube would work too. You can upload your video and then play around with some programs to enhance your voice and make a simple beat. idk any program specifics, but they're definitely out there.

in a band, so I've heard his analyzation of her playing when we watch her concert videos. She plays rhythm a lot, or just busts out power cords, like someone else said. She played guitar and drums way back in the late 70's early 80's, then took it up again. She has gotten better but it takes a lot of dedication to become great, and she divides her attention to too many other things.

I imagine/hope that if she gets too old to carry a whole concert dancing, she'll get really great at guitar and just go with rock.i'd say about a 7, but she only started playing guitar as an older adult, which makes it harder to learn. i'd say for a popstar who knows singing and dancing best i'd give her some credit. she's not bad, just hasnt practiced since childhood like the virtuosos. she also won an award a few years ago for "most improved guitarist" or something like that but i cant find it on goole. overall, considering she's been playing for only about 10 years and has tons of other artistic endeavors, i would say she is a decent guitar player. the people who dont think so are snobs, or they hate Madonna!
She is not very talented at all. I watched an interview with her and she said she is now playing guitar so she can write songs and make the money she has been overlooking by not writing her own songs. What she does is write the lyrics and then puts some very basic chords behind the words and then someone come through and arranges it and makes it sound respectable.

I LOVE Flyleaf. They are one of my favorite bands and someone I listen to daily. I like the song Circle as well, but my favorite had to be Arise. It has made me cry before.

I like how they are a Christian band too, but non-Christians can still enjoy them.

If you want a good guitar that resembles an old Fender, get either a G&L(Leo Fender's company) or a Tokai(Japanese ripoff).All brands of guitars have different neck dimensions. Gibsons have a shorter neck, so the frets are closer together. Fender has a longer neck and so the frets are farther apart. Ibanez have a wide neck especially down by the nut. On a jazz guitar the strings are closer together. So it really all depends on your playing style and your personal preference.

Why is the American music industry not as good anymore?

-I'm talking about rock and metal music especially. Even up to 2005, I think there were some really cool music coming out but lately, I think the originality from music is disappearing. Why is that? Does it have something to do with the economic recession?Cause music now is a product rather than a form of self expression and art.No back in the 80's the US was going threw a tough time and Heavy Metal music was still popular

Is it possible to buy a fake epiphone from a music store?

-so i heard that gibson truss rod covers should have only two screws.. but im seeing one with three screws... but ive seen a picture of an epiphone with two screws on the cover for the same model also.. is it possible to buy a fake from a trusted site? even a daeler of epiphone like guitar center?At one of my local music stores, I was told that they did not buy Epiphones (and I think Gibsons) because the companies require the distributor to buy a minimum amount of guitars (I think it might be 200, but I can't verify online). If this store is relatively small, or they don't seem to have too many Epiphones or Gibsons, then it might be fake, but not necessarily. It might be real, but used, if this is the case, which would mean that you are still being taken advantage of, but I don't think it is this.

Frank Ocean-Nostalgia, Ultra(more of a r&b type of thing with the odd future style of being wild and shock value type stuff) but I like that one a lot.

Also, you may want to check out their 2nd group mixtape, Radical. It has everyone I'm pretty sure, but it was after Casey veggies left and he's pretty good. But it has Earl

But of what I recommended, YOU would probably like yellowhite the most.It's hard to find full, working downloads of the mixtapes, so I'd recommend getting one of the physical releases you can find in stores. Mellowhype's (Left Brain & Hodgy Beats) re-release of BlackenedWhite is incredible. The beats are out of this world and compliment Hodgy's flow. "Loaded" featuring Mike G is my favorite off the whole album, and a lot of the tracks are scary good.

The name of this club dance song?

-I don't really have much to go on...

All I know is the chorus or whatever, which is "hey hey". It kinda sounds like they say 'hey' twice and then there's some techno-y sounding music and then they say it again. I've been hearing it at all the clubs but I don't think it's in the top songs on iTunes! It's not a very upbeat techno song, it's more laid back and mainstream sounding.

In general, though, Unholy Confessions, Second Heartbeat, Scream, Thick And Thin are some of my favorites. Honestly, I love them all.

The music video for So Far Away is very sad, yes. But I can't help but smile when I watch it.

I can't lie though, I've only seen it a few times because I cry like a baby every time. Even someone who doesn't know or even like A7X can't help but feel how heartbroken they are that they lost their best friend.

By the way, because I mentioned Unholy Confessions being one of my favorites.. It is genuinely one of their best live songs. If you want a song to get the crowd pumped, that's it.
Their cover of walk. Obviously it cant compare to the original by Pantera but in that song they are impressive, especially in the vocal department. I usually find their stuff is very whiny vocally and so it was great to hear their singer not sounding whiny, especially on a song like walk known for phillip anselmo roaring through it like a badass.

It may seem funny that i picked a cover as my favourite song they have done but like i said its not whiny at all which is a good thing. If their singer didnt whine through songs that they wrote i might like them.

Any Funeral For A Friend fans?

-I really like the welsh band Funeral For A Friend. Although they make really good music they are a pretty unknown band. And it's really rare that I meet other FFAF fans. My favorite albums are Tales don't tell themselves and Welcome home armageddon. I think that their best song is One for the road but I like all their songs. Breaking Bad or Dexter?

-Which show do you like more ?? both big shows very popular. In my opinion i like Dexter more wbu?Dexter is fantastic, but Breaking Bad brings it to a whole other level.

It's something really difficult to put your finger on. I guess it might be the complexity and the emotion. Perhaps also because Breaking Bad encourages you to invest very strongly in a number of characters. Besides Walt there is also Jesse and to a lesser extent Skyler. Dexter has a great supporting cast, but at the end of the day your loyalty will always lie with Dexter.Breaking bad is seriously the best show in years . Dexter rivals neither the plot or the complexity and detail that the creator has weaved into the intricate tapestry of this tale. Breaking bad will no doubt win many awards this year with its unique and fresh angle.

All i can think off, is that its just generic background music, which you hear alot in tv shows, and not by anyone in particular.

What is your favorite Beethoven sonata and why?

-Let's hear it.Difficult to choose one! All Beethoven鈥檚 piano sonatas are master pieces, but some of them (mostly just because of their nick names) are better known than others.

My first choice is no. 32 (op.111), the last piano sonata in c-minor in 2 movements. The first movement, like many other earlier Beethoven鈥檚 works in c-minor (like 5th Symphony) has a tragic / fate-fighting character. The second movement in variation-form is to me the most spiritual movement of all Beethoven Sonatas. I know no other piece in piano literature to be more deep and profound than this mysterious slow movement which was indeed Beethoven鈥檚 fare well to piano sonata form.

My other clear choices are:

-No 29 in B flat major, (Hammerklavier)

-No 23 in F minor (Appassionata)

-No 31 in A-flat majorProbably the Waldstein Sonata. For me, it's one of the most brilliant compositions for the solo piano. When analyzing it you find out that it is incredibly complex, specially regarding the harmony. Sonata 8 (Pathetique)

I played movement 2 a while ago, and am currently working on movement 1.

Its such a dramatic, emotional peice. You can put your own emotion into it, and imagine what Beethoven's emotions were :)
The A flat with variations instead of a first movement The variations are just so clever, the slow movement dignified & the last movement a romp!
Moonlight Sonata because its sad but its like its telling a story in the music...I can hardly listen to it without feeling some kind of emotion..
Tempest Sonata (Movement 3) -because it sounds so pretty, and i like playing it on the piano.
It's a tie between no. 24 and 26.

Does anyone feel sorry for Rebecca Black?

-The girls only 14 years old and some people give her too much undeserving crap. That's lot of horrible musicians out there that don't get picked on as much as Black. I feel sorry for her.Of course I do. No one deserves death threats, insults about how they look. She was just a girl who wanted to fullfil her dream. And it isn't 'just life,' because no one deserves what she got.

Edit: Oh my gosh people need to leave her alone. Grow up, people.i think she's an awful singer who wrote a very dull, shallow and meaningless song...but still, i feel bad for her, because everyone is entitled to chase their dreams and that's just what she's doing, she has every right to. just because i don't like her doesn't mean i can give her abuse because she's still a person...no one should be allowed to be so harsh just because someone's doing what they love.

that being said, she went into the world of music, and chances are, you'rer going to find people who oppose you. she knew full well what she was doing by releasing a song, and if you can't take criticism then you shouldn't, as someone else said, "jump into a den of wolves."

i don't like her, and i'm entitled to my own opinion, but she's entitled to do what she wants and she shouldn't get so much crap from everyone for doing that.

Thank you for your time.That is opinion. it depends on what music you like. Im sure some one will say Eddie Van Halen and he is good but really, not that great. He uses double tapping which makes it sound great. Rock is also an easier genre for guitar. For blues Eric Clapton. For jazz, I would pick Jeff Beck. For rock there are a couple different options, Pete Townsend is great if you really listen to some live stuff. Santana had a good sound and style. There is always Jimmy Page who makes some really good riffs. For acoustic, I would say Chet Atkins.There is also Joe Satriani, Brian May, David Gilmour, and a lot more.

How do you play a 16 hole 32 tone Harmonica? (Key of C)?

-Or let's say a double reed harmonica?? I'm just a beginner, and I know, I should probably buy a 10 hole diatonic. But it seems that the store where I bought my harmonica doesn't have any intentions to sell a 10 hole. :(16/32 is either a tremolo or an octave. "How do you play" depends on if it has a Richter scale (most of the German harps) or is solo-tuned (most of the Asian harps. 16/32 is much more common among the German models - Asians tend to be 21-hole with duplicated "Do" in each octave. The Hohner Comet 2503 is an example of the German 16/32 Octave harp. The Suzuki Su-21 is an example of the Asian tremolos. http://www.grothmusic.com/cgi-local/Soft鈥?/a> is a chart of the scale on the different models of Hohner tremolo/octave harps.

If it's Richter tuned then you have exactly the same scale as a 10-hole diatonic and do-re-mi-fa... starts around 4 blow and follows the pattern 4blow 4 draw 5 blow 5 draw 6 blow 6 draw 7 draw 7 blow. Any tab for a 10-hole will work on it - it just has an octave and a half more notes. [note - some put Do at 5blow instead and have a little more range on the bottom chording section - test yours by using the pattern I gave at 4 blow. [note: many of the Hohner and other tremolos start the scale at 5 instead. You'd just add 1 to any tab you find for 10-hole]

If it's solo tuned then it's just like a chromatic but without the slide to raise the pitch. The pattern is the same but Do is usually all the way down on 1 and you have 4 full octaves of scale to work with. The advantage of solo tuned is that you're not missing the notes a Richter is missing in the bottom (1-4) of the harp. The disadvantage of solo tuned is that it's not set up for vamping the "three chord trick" in crossharp that blue players use. If 1 blow, 1 draw, 2 blow, 2 draw, 3 blow, 3 draw, 4 draw, 4 blow is a major scale (do re mi fa sol la ti do) then you're solo tuned.

The tremolo/octave harp is fantastic for playing melodies and tunes. That's what it's for. And, you can play some pretty fancy melodic stuff on one. It's not for wailing the blues (though some people do it) because 1) you can't bend two reeds equally at the same time and 2) the chord pattern is different.

The best way to learn it is by ear. Playing from tab or with "licks" is really not as advantageous. http://www.gatewayharmonicaclub.org/solo鈥?/a> is an excellent tutorial for solo-tuned harmonica though you'll need to find out where your harp placed the Do (start of the scale).

If it's Richter tuned (same as a 10-hole) then any harmonica lesson material will work for it except you won't be able to bend and scoop like a 10-hole does.

What is the best program/software to use when it comes to Dubstep?

-I'm looking for a new hobby and after hearing some Dubstep music/songs, I've taken quite a liking to it and figured I'd like to give it a shot. I have heard about programs such as DubTurbo and Reaper, but nothing more. I'm looking for one that is reliable, easy to use for a beginner (such as myself), and costs a fair price for what I'm buying.

Since I'm just a beginner delving into the idea of creating Dubstep beats, I'm not looking for programs like Logic (I believe that's what it's called) which I believe is quite expensive and more oriented at professionals who know what they are doing.

To add to the suggestions of programs to use, what is a good site to look for tutorials as how to use the program or would the program already have a guide, etc.

Thank you for the help :)Dubturbo is pretty shabby. For the money, you can't really go wrong with Reaper. A lot of music software is significantly overpriced due to piracy. Reaper is massively under-priced. $40 for a license is virtually nothing compared to its real value.

It can do everything that software such as Logic, Reason and Pro Tools can. You just have to know how to use it properly. I use Ableton Suite 8. Max For Live (a feature of Ableton) is mindblowing and definitely worth the price. You can design your own instruments, effects....there's nothing you can't do. But it is expensive.

When it comes to learning, the manual and Youtube are your best friends. If you just type "reaper dubstep tutorial" into the Youtube search engine, you'll get more than you could ever hope for. Reading manuals can be a bit laborious but honestly, it's worth it if you want to be serious about music.

What instruments should someone learn in their life?

-I already know how to play piano and am learning guitar now. Want to also pick up other instruments later down the road but don't know which. -Do you think its dying?Not really, it's happening all the time. Especially with hip hop artists sampling from songs from the 80s and further back because their new target market don't know about these other things.

It is still an effective method because a good hook can make a hit. For example very recently Jason Derulo sampled a song called 'You've got to show me love' in his new song 'I don't wanna go home' and Jennifer Lopez' hit song 'on the floor' having a sample from 'lambada'.It's becoming less common among producers that are popular today..but it's not dying. For example, I listen to madlib on a daily basis, and he uses samples in all of his songs. and young producers who ive met on here(such as savage cap and stillill) they use samples a lot in their songs, but their influence comes from producers that sample heavily(dj shadow, Pete rock, j dilla, madlib). Sampling is becoming an underappreciated part of being a producer, that's why more popular producers do not sample and underground/less popular producers sample a lot. It's all in what draws a crowd
no i think it's still going strong in the underground scene but the mainstream doesn't seem to do it as much, they also never have scratches or cuts on their records which is a key element. i think the dj has been completely shunned out for the most part and they're the backbone of the culture...shame

Also the higher the note opening your mouth more makes them easier to hit.
