Metalheads, when people use the word "screamo" to describe Death Metal, Black Metal etc how do you feel?

-To be honest, it pisses me off quite a lot.It's a slap in the face, and it tarnishes the face of metal. I hate how all of these trashy emo boybands are constantly being associated with respectable extreme metal acts. They really do set a standard for negative stereotypes, because to the average media spoon fed Amerian teenager it's all the same.Screamo, like Emo, is just a crappy generic term dreamt up by idiots who don't have the first clue when it comes to differentiating between different genres of music. it pisses me off but i feel that we have a duty to educate these morons, so next time someone uses the term, slap them and put them right. It's the only way they'll learn.
In real life, I feel like punching them and over the internet, I just wish that I could strangle someone over the internet.



Earlier today, I saw some guy ask about screamo bands and some dumb **** recommended Immortal.



I mean, Black Metal and Death Metal were made a decade before screamo and they've got nothing alike.
It pisses me off and I dont like Death Metal. Ok so i like Metalcore bands and Nu Metal bands that scream like Slipknot. And people call them screamo. SOMEONE CALLED KORN SCREAMO! THEY DONT EVEN SCREAM! Another thing i hate is when people say **** like "Does any one know songs that have screamo in them". No i dont BECUASE SCREAMO IS A TYPE OF MUSIC NOT A VOCAL STYLE!!!!
I think one of the worst thing in the evolution of metal was the apperance of cookie monster singers. Metal used to be a beautiful thing wher the singer actuall sang. Metal needs more guys like the late great Ronnie James Dio.

Some of my friends referred to any metal as screamo. It's really annoying, and when I try to get them to listen to a freakin' ballad with no screaming, no growling, nothing harsh at all, they run away. It's upsetting...
though i'm not such a big fan of death and black metal, i have 0% respect for depressing teen emo music, so yes, it pisses me off.
It concerns me not. Death metal and black metal are mediocre.



What annoys me is when people think REAL metal, like heavy and thrash have screamed vocals. Not true.
It bugs the hell outta me. I wouldn't even go as far as to say that Children of Bodom (new sh*t) was screamo. Screamo is waaaay more mainstream than Black/Death metal.
I don't. Becuase Screamo is an Emo genre. Not any old music with Harsh vocals.

"Hey guys, check out this screamo band called "Maudlin of The Well" sounds so wrong...
I think it's funny cuz I know it's gonna upset others.
I get a little pissed, but I get over it. People are ignorant.
