I sing in a range from A3 to D5. Does this mean I can sing well?

-My friends and family say I sing pretty good but I'm not convinced. I have such a good vocal range I dont know why I can't sing like others. So my question is does having a good vocal range mean you can sing well and that its just a technique or practice issue?hey, its awesome that you have a great vocal range. that's a good quality for singing, of course. Yes you can sing, but the reason I believe you don't believe in yourself as being a good singer is that you didn't find a song that had soul within your own interests. Have you considered simply to choose a song out of mainstream-not that i'm assuming that's all you listen to-sometimes I'm a little guilty of it myself-but really, are you an acoustic lover? R&B? rap? alternative, just find a group that you enjoy listening to. pick one that matches your qualities, such as your amazing octaves. make your voice speak your soul and smile. you can do it-no obama pun there!Having a good vocal range can mean anything. Mostly what it means to me is that

A) I'm capable to sing certain songs in different ranges

B) Even though you may be able to hit certain notes, it might not mean you sing well.

But you may be a good singer. If your not convinced that you can sing, record yourself singing, listen to the recording and determine it. Or ask some good friends that you trust and that will give you their honest opinion. Hope this helps :)
