Why is the American music industry not as good anymore?

-I'm talking about rock and metal music especially. Even up to 2005, I think there were some really cool music coming out but lately, I think the originality from music is disappearing. Why is that? Does it have something to do with the economic recession?Cause music now is a product rather than a form of self expression and art.No back in the 80's the US was going threw a tough time and Heavy Metal music was still popular

You just have to look harder. I think pop music will just be a face in a few years people will like good music. By the way do you get Vh1 classics because this weekend they are having the MTV 30th anniversary with MTV's old shows, music video shows, music new, ect you might like it.
Because you're getting old, that's why, and old people usually complain about modern music. Just like how your parents don't like the music you listen to.



There are tons of good contemporary bands out there. But since you are too old, your musical tastes will never go beyond your current tastes.
It's not just the industry, it's the also the people who buy the music.
Nah, it's just some people not being open minded to varying genres of music. Do you seriously think good bands can forever be as good as they used to be?
