Can I use one finger to hold down...?

-multiple frets? I'm trying to play a Gm7 on guitar and on the fret their across from each other, the ones I have to hold down. So can I just use one finger to apply pressure to 4 strings?

Sorry if I'm confusing, beginner guitarist.

Thanks!IM a chordy dude myself, however , 1 finger can be used to press down on multiple strings... ive never tried to do multiple frets. I learn by ear and have played for years so... yeah lol
